Actors, musicians, circus performers, magicians... more than 70 artists on stage to celebrate Paral·lel’s varieties shows during the twenties. 

Variety theatre was the ragbag which had a place for everything: from erotic cuplés to the great displays of feathers and from saw-playing virtuosos to flea tamers. The variety theatre shows, which packed the stalls with people from many social backgrounds, led to the invention of new stage syntaxes, decisively contributing to articulating a mass culture that shaped today’s Catalonia and still reverberates strongly in our collective imaginary. By revisiting some of the materials produced at El Paral·lel during the first half of the 20th century and making them dialogue with our present time, we wish to revive variety shows such as ¡Chófer... al Palace!, Taxi... ¡Al Cómico! and Taxi al Paralelo.
