La reina lloba

Pau Carrió, from William Shakespeare

A character who gets dirty, who fights, who loves, who scratches, who wins and loses

Pau Carrió dedicates his new creation to Margaret of Anjou: the She-Wolf Queen. She is one of the most quoted characters in Shakespeare's plays, always revolving around the great male protagonists (Henry VI, Richard III), yet does not have a play of her own.

With La reina lloba, Carrió sets out to reveal the exciting life of this historical figure. Margaret will be a bride, wife, lover, queen, mother, warrior, widow and visionary witch. She will plot political intrigues, lead the Lancastrian armies, fight against the Yorks and, ultimately, lose the war, the crown, her husband and her only son. She will go into exile in France but will return to England, at the age of fifty, to announce the end of Richard III's reign of terror.
